The North America Atlas of Unconventional Hydrocarbon Resources is an interactive web map application developed by the West Virginia GIS Technical Center (WVGISTC)with funding from the U.S. Department of Energy, Nation Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). This application depicts geologic basin, oil and gas plays and unconventional well locations in an online map environment. Map features are connected to geospatial and bibliographic databases that may be queried by users in order to obtain pertinent information that may otherwise be difficult to obtain or relate to specific geographic locations.
